The University of Sarajevo and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, with the support of the Institute for Social Research of the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Political Sciences, launched the Conference “Future of Education: Higher Education for Sustainable Development 2030”. The event was held on Tuesday, 25th January 2022. The aim of the Conference was to present a projection of the development of science and higher education in Sarajevo Canton until 2030, taking into account that the key challenge for academia is the way it organizes the learning process and education in the context of rapid technological, economic and social development. The conference was organized as a hybrid event with exhibitors in the amphitheatre and participants on online platforms (Zoom and YouTube).
Within the panel “Digitalization and digital transformation of society and higher education: state, perspectives and challenges”, assistant professor Dr Alisa Elezović gave a presentation “Raising quality, digitalization and modernization of higher education through the implementation of the Erasmus+ project – IQPharm”, on behalf of the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Pharmacy and the team implementing the Erasmus+ project “Innovating quality assessment tools for pharmacy studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (IQPharm). The need to enhance the standards of pharmacy studies at the national level was emphasized, which is being achieved through the main objectives of the project in the context of modernization and digitalization of pharmacy studies: the introduction of new tools for assessing the quality of study programs and professional practice (KREF and OSCE tests, E-platform, free modules), with the aim of following European and world trends in raising the quality of pharmacy studies and the labor market shifts. The reviews presented at the Conference will be available in extenso in the journal “Pregled” (“Review”), published by the University of Sarajevo.
On behalf of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the IQPharm team, we would like to thank the University of Sarajevo and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton for organizing such an important event for the future of science and higher education.
