Opening ceremony of the Introductory Symposium of the IQPharm ERASMUS + project

The introductory symposium “Pharmacy of the Future in Bosnia and Herzegovina” of the ERASMUS + project for raising quality in higher education “Innovating quality assessment tools for pharmacy studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (IQPharm) was held at the Hills Hotel, Sarajevo, 08-10. July 2021.

The beginning of the Introductory Symposium was marked by the opening ceremony starting at 7 p.m. On behalf of the University of Sarajevo, which is the coordinator of the ERASMUS + IQPharm project, prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, Vice Dean for International Cooperation, and then Mr. Suad Muhibić as Director of the National ERASMUS + Office in BiH. The opening ceremony was enhanced by the address of Mrs. Snježana Bodnaruk, Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health.

We were honored to listen to the address of the Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Anja Margetic, who pointed out that the implementation of such a project will be a generator of change in our community, and the essential importance lies in the development and future of health care in our city, country and region.

On behalf of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the partner universities, the following addressed: prof. dr Fahir Bečić, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sarajevo, prof. Dr. Ranko Skrbic, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka, prof. Dr. Adaleta Softić, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Tuzla and prof. Dr. Ivica Brizić, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Mostar.

Finally, we had the honor to listen to the address of the ERASMUS + IQPharm project leader prof. Dr. Tamer Bego, who first of all thanked all present participants and pointed out the importance of implementing a project to raise quality in all studies of pharmacy at public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to the distinguished speakers, the opening ceremony was enlarged by Sanja Manov and Nejla Komar, and our student Fatima Mehmedović, who accompanied the program musically and whom we sincerely thank.
