

In the period from August 29 to August 31, 2023, the final meeting within the Proposal of free modules activity was held at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Split as part of the Erasmus+ IQPharm project.
Free modules are designed as elective courses allowing the students and/or masters of pharmacy the opportunity to personalize their additional education by engaging a mentored experience in a particular area of pharmacy which will help them to advance in the pharmaceutical profession.
The meeting was attended by members of the project team on behalf of the UNST, UNSA, UNMO, UNBL, and UNTZ.
The meeting was led by Task group leader Maida Šljivić Husejnović (UNTZ).
After the brief overview of the overall project activities carried out so far by Project leader Tamer Bego (UNSA) an introduction to the free module proposal and a discussion about the needs of the real sector were held. The main objective of the task was to prepare and propose of innovative free modules by each Faculty of Pharmacy in Bosnia and Herzegovina after organizing thematic meetings with real sector. The proposed free modules are prepared with the aim to enrich the students’ and pharmacists’ knowledge and help them to achieve their personal goals through the professional development in the fields of their personal interests. Additional aim was to provide opportunities for increased student mobility among faculties, which could be benefit for students, staff and partner institutions in developing and strengthening cooperation at national and international level.
Representatives of each faculty presented their proposals for the free module syllabi, which was followed by a useful discussion that will contribute to the easier involvement of partners from the real sector in the free modules implementation.
At the third day of activities the main risks and problems in the free modules implementation related to the differences in regulation in the field of lifelong learning were discussed. All partners agreed to make an additional effort to ensure legal prerequisites for recognition of free modules in the future at all partner universities.
